Alexandria Journalism Project
At AJP, we believe in the power of journalism to create positive change in our society. That's why we fund investigative journalism in Alexandria, along with multiple initiatives to support aspiring journalists and promote media literacy. We provide scholarships for graduating high school seniors who want to study journalism in college. We also fund newspapers at colleges in the DC metro area. We plan to develop a journalism literacy curriculum to be taught in middle and high schools.
The AJP was formed to ensure that Alexandria never becomes a "news desert." The public is better served when a media entity that does investigative journalism exists. AJP will be that entity into perpetuity.
Join us in supporting investigative journalism in Alexandria. The AJP is a private foundation, but people who want to support our mission are encouraged to make a tax deductible donation.
In addition to investigative journalism, our mission at AJP is to help train the next generation of journalists through scholarships, support for local college journalism programs, and development of a journalism literacy curriculum to be taught in middle and high schools.
